Hi everybody,
This coming Monday we're doing something a little different at our weekly Cresta's get-together: we're going to try to help somebody none of us have ever met.
The somebody in question is "Jane," a domestic abuse victim. She is a mother of three who after 17 long years finally is able to break out of an abusive marriage. As so often is the case, the last and major hurdle in her path is financial; she needs help to move out and start a new and better life for herself and her kids. We're going to try to give her some of that help, which is why we're doing a fundraiser at Cresta's this coming Monday, and we're counting on you to be there and help us help her.
Why help a complete stranger? You may not know Jane, but you know her story. Countless women around the nation are trapped in abusive relationships simply because they can't afford to break free. Here's your chance to make a difference in one of those cases -- a little cash is going to go a long way.
But wait, there's more! We're also celebrating Baseball Tony's 50th birthday! You can help make an old man happy by showing up and contributing to the Jane Fund.
We'll provide the food (homemade pesto pasta) and the music (Bummer Blues Band, Top Critters). The rest is up to you.
Where: Cresta's, 2211 Polk St. @ Vallejo
